2024-25 Premier League Award Winners Announced

Darcy Griffin (Academy), Hannah Francis-Smithson (Tameside) and Sophie Marsland (Sussex Thunder) have been named Premier League Players of the Season, while Weston Park Blades have been crowned Club of the Season for 2024-25.

Following 18 action-packed rounds, Oldham Netball Club (PL1), The Downs Netball Club (PL2) and Blackpool Netball Club (PL3) were crowned champions.

Over 600 athletes took to courts across the country to represent their teams with the three Player of the Season winners chosen based on each league game’s Player of the Match awards.

At the end of each game, both teams picked a Player of the Match from the opposition team. The winning team’s Player of the Match was awarded three points and the losing team’s player received two points.

These scores were then tallied up across the season to determine the players with the most points in each league.

After picking up the honour at the end of the 2021-22 season, Academy’s Griffin has won the Premier League 1 accolade once again. Griffin was a standout performer, picking up 10 Player of the Match Awards throughout the season.

In Premier League 2, Francis-Smithson has taken top honours. Starring for Tameside in their campaign, she scooped nine Player of the Match prizes.

Sussex Thunder’s Marsland won 11 Player of the Match awards during the season – the most of any player across all three divisions! Marsland helped her side better last season’s seventh-place position as they finished sixth in Premier League 3 in 2024-25.

Meanwhile, Weston Park Blades have been voted Club of the Season – taking the title from last year’s winners Norfolk United.

The award shines a spotlight on the club that goes above and beyond off the court – from creating a brilliant game day experience for visiting teams to consistently showing great sportsmanship.

It’s been a strong year for Weston Park Blades, who also impressed on court with a third-place finish in Premier League 1, recording 12 wins across the competition.

Congratulations to Darcy, Hannah and Sophie, as well as everyone involved at Weston Park Blades, and a big thank you to all the teams, officials, volunteers and fans for another exciting season of competition!
