Young Roses ready for Netball Europe

The U17 England Roses have headed over to Northern Ireland ahead of the 2017 Netball Europe Championship which is to be held this weekend.

Following trials on Sunday 15th January in Derby, the athletes below have been selected to represent England U17’s in Belfast from 3rd-5th March, here is a reminder of the squad;

Shelby Harris (South), Alice Harvey (Y&H), Maddie Munro-Hall* (East Mids), Jasmin Odeogberin (L&SE), Georgia Pexton (Y&H), Ellie Rattu (East), Annabel Roddy (West Mids), Kira Rothwell (L&SE), Sienna Rushton (East Mids), Ella Standring (North-West), Olivia Tchine (L&SE) Hannah Williams (North-West)

Newly appointed U17 Head Coach Alex Young (nee Kirk) said: “It is an honour to be given this opportunity to take on this role. I am really looking forward to leading this incredibly exciting group of players.

“We now have a three day preparation camp to work together as a unit, to produce our full potential as a team for Netball Europe.”

The budding Roses will take on Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland across the three days for the chance to be crowned champions.

Netball Europe U17 Championship

Friday 3rd March: Northern Ireland v England, 4pm

Saturday 4th March: England v Wales, 1pm

Sunday 5th March: Scotland v England, 9am
