England Netball are delighted to announce that after a meeting on 23rd March 2016, the board have formally ratified transitioning players to full time status from 1st June.
As part of the mission to reach the 2019 Netball World Cup Final, England Netball have been looking at all parameters of the performance programme and how it’s approached, leading up to 2019 and beyond.
Speaking of the decision, Chief Executive Officer Joanna Adams said: “It’s amazing to be able to give these girls the opportunity to have netball as their career.
“It’s important to make these decisions in order to accelerate the development of the England Roses’ success and get even closer to the top two teams in the world.
“Once again we’d like to extend huge thanks to Sport England for their continued support of our athletes, without which they wouldn’t be able to perform at the level they do.”
Expression of interest forms have been circulated to all Franchise Directors and Coaches for formal nomination of athletes and we will be announcing those selected at a later date.
Full-time training will begin on Monday 13th June 2016 in Loughborough.
