England’s young stars made their mark at U21 Netball Europe by winning all three of their games against Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland respectively.
Their performance on the court against Scotland on the final day of the tournament saw them take home a 75-29 victory and ensured them the trophy.
Following an England centre pass, Emilia Roscoe and Berri Neil got things started with two quick fire goals within the first minute of the game.
The shooting duo remained on target throughout the first quarter, which meant England were able to race out in front.
The score at the end of the first quarter was 22-5 to England.
Despite Scotland charging back onto court and claiming a number of goals at the start of the second quarter, England continued to force errors from them and were able to maintain their lead.
The whistle was blown at half-time with the score set at 34-18, leaving England with a strong 16 goal lead.
England U21 Head Coach Karen Greig introduced some new changes at the start of the third quarter, with captain Hannah Williams coming on as wing attack, Yasmin Roebuck moving to wing defence and Alicia Scholes moving to centre.
Thanks to some excellent intercepts from Scholes and Williams, England were able to maintain possession for the majority of the third quarter and extend their lead to 57-23.
For the final quarter of the fast-paced game, Greig decided to mix things up again by bringing Ruth Hughes on as centre and Megan Thorne on as goal shooter.
Scotland worked hard in the shooting circle to try and reduce the gap, however England’s Funmi Fadoju was on top form and gave Scotland little chances to do so.
England made their final 15 minutes on court count at U21 Netball Europe and drove home a 75-29 win against Scotland.
