Today (05/05/21), we celebrate the birthday of Zara Everitt as the Roses Future turns 21!
Zara has been one of the country’s most promising defenders for several years having established herself at international and Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) level since the age of 16.
And the 2021 season has seen her play a crucial role in a youthful London Pulse side.
Often deployed alongside fellow prodigious English talents Halimat Adio and Funmi Fadoju, Zara has excelled in a defensive end that is sure to be a force in the future as the players develop.
The former Loughborough Lightning starlet joined Pulse ahead of the 2020 campaign and has featured in 13 of their 14 outings this term racking up 12 interceptions and 27 deflections.

The move to Sam Bird’s side marked a return to the south for Zara after breaking through at Hertfordshire-based Saracens Mavericks.
She was included in their senior squad for the 2017 VNSL season and represented Mavericks until 2019 when she made the switch to Lightning.
While making a name for herself on the Superleague stage, Zara was also rapidly progressing through the England youth ranks.
The Oxford University student was first selected for a tour of Jamaica in 2016 before being included in the long squad for the 2017 World Youth Cup in Botswana.
She subsequently featured for the U19s and later captained the U21s, illustrating the leadership skills she possessed from a remarkably young age.
And Zara would taste success in the England dress in 2019 where she helped steer her team to victory at Netball Europe Open in Northern Ireland.
The cancellation of the Netball World Youth Cup 2021 has denied her the chance to make a mark at another international tournament, but her ability to deliver at that level is unquestionable.
And we can’t wait to see her continue to progress in the Roses Futures programme!
