U17 and Invitational squads selected for Europe Netball U17 Championship

England won the previous edition of the tournament in 2020, completing a clean sweep en route to the trophy. 

They will face Scotland and United Arab Emirates (UAE) U17 squads and, due to other nations being unable to participate, an England Invitational squad.  

The England Invitational squad will be made up of 12 Roses Academy athletes, who will gain valuable experience on an international stage.  

Both squads will assemble for a pre-competition camp in Newcastle. 

Discussing the squads selected and the upcoming competition, Roses Academy Head Coach Sheonah Forbes said: “Congratulations to all of the athletes selected to represent England as part of the U17 or Invitational squads at the upcoming Europe Netball U17 Championship. 

“It’s so exciting to be able to name two such strong squads and indicates the talent we have coming through the Roses Academy. 

“Europe Netball is a fantastic opportunity for the girls selected to gain experiences through playing other nations in an international arena and understand what it is like to represent your country. 

“After seeing the Vitality Roses in action at the Netball Quad Series, as part of the Vitality Netball International Series, I’m looking forward to seeing our young Roses take their chance to develop and perform in competition.”
