Zara Everitt has been named captain for the Vitality Roses’ trip to the Fast5 Netball World Series in New Zealand.
London Pulse defender, Zara Everitt has been named captain for the Fast Netball World Series in New Zealand, taking place on 5 and 6 November. Manchester Thunder’s Taylor McKevitt has been appointed as vice-captain.
The appointment caps a successful month for Everitt who received her first senior international cap during the Vitality Netball International Series against the Uganda She Cranes where the Vitality Roses came out with a 3-0 victory.
Zara commented: “I can’t wait to captain such a driven and exciting team in what is sure to be a tough competition.
“Fast 5 is an opportunity for us to adapt to a new style of playing and we’re excited to compete for the trophy against the world’s top netball nations, in front of the Christchurch crowds.’
The Fast5 Netball World Series is an international competition based on netball’s newest format Fast5. The Series was first held in England from 2009-2011 and is played with five players on each team, shorter quarters, multiple point shots and double point power plays.
England, who have won the competition twice in their history, will compete amongst the world’s top six ranked teams in the tournament that will be staged across two days at the Christchurch Arena.
Futures Head Coach, Kathryn Ratnapala will lead the team, filled with bright prospects from the Futures programme, out in New Zealand and is excited to see what this group of young Roses can do on the international stage.

The Future Roses Programme is an integral part of the Vitality Roses setup and is designed to support, enable and create ‘Roses Ready’ athletes in the pathway to be elevated to the Roses full time programme and to increase the probability of sustained success on the world stage, with a view to readying talent for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2027 Netball World Cup.
