Whilst Jayda’s playing career is still at its early stages, the defender has already enjoyed some initial success at youth level on the international stage. In 2021, Jayda was part of the team who took gold at the Europe Netball Under-21s championship and captained the Under-19s side this year to another gold medal. Domestically, Jayda has been a part of successful London Pulse squads, including Winners of the National Performance Grand Final 2022 (Under-21s) and runners-up in the National Performance League (Under-21s). Most recently, Jayda has signed with Netball Super League side Team Bath for the 2023 season.

Jayda is currently out in New Zealand preparing with a group of Vitality Roses for the upcoming Fast5 Netball World Series which takes place this weekend.

Commenting after hearing the news, Jayda said: “I was so shocked. I didn’t even expect it. I feel like I’ve had a great journey this year but I’ve never put it in perspective and being nominated made me realise how much I’ve achieved. It’s really exciting to know I’m going to be up alongside those kind of athletes in the future. I’m really proud.”

The winner of SportsAid’s prestigious One-to-Watch Award will be revealed at the charity’s Celebrate the Next event, taking place in London on Thursday 17 November.
