There was little to separate the two teams at the end of the opening quarter with England narrowly ahead (8-7).
Sheonah Forbes’ squad flew out the traps in the second quarter, running away to 16-8 lead heading into the Power Play and were 20-8 up at the break.
The third was a closely-fought affair but when the Power Play buzzer sounded, it was Scotland who had the better end to the quarter, closing the gap to just seven points (27-20).
An early turnover for Scotland in the final quarter saw them pick up where they left off and further reduce the deficit, but England remained calm and kept the scoreboard ticking over.
With just a minute remaining on the clock, Scotland were back to within one but the young Roses replied instantly with a four-pointer to re-establish an advantage.
In the tense closing stages, Forbes’ side kept their composure before bursting into scenes of celebration and jubilation as the full-time whistle sounded.
It feels amazing. We were really excited to come into this competition and we just wanted to get a medal. To come away with the bronze is such a great feeling.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the team on their journey and to the hosts on a fantastic event.
