“The Commonwealth Games has given our sport such wonderful moments in years gone by. I don’t think anybody will ever forget 2018 and that last second goal which inspired so many people to get behind our Roses and get involved in the sport. Ever since we’ve enjoyed record growth in participation and engagement and we’re so excited to have the opportunity to do this all over again in Glasgow.”

This will be the eighth time that netball has been included within the Commonwealth Games having first been introduced in 1998.

Vitality Roses Head Coach Jess Thirlby added: “I’m delighted to hear the news that netball will be part of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Commonwealth Games is a hugely important major event in our competition calendar that has provided us with some phenomenal moments, both for the Vitality Roses and the sport of netball as a whole and always draws in incredible crowds.

“We love playing in front of our passionate home fans who give us so much energy and support both on and off the court, and so we can’t wait to play in another major championships in front of what will feel like a home crowd filled with Vitality Roses fans. We are really grateful to be one of the ten confirmed sports.”
