England Netball is committed to being a Stonewall Diversity Champion. We want to create a workplace where LGBT+ staff can be themselves, driving performance, engagement and innovation.
We believe that sport should be inclusive and that nobody should miss out simply because of who they are.
Stonewall research shows that LGBT+ people who are comfortable being out in the workplace are 67 per cent more likely to be satisfied at work. YouGov’s most recent research asked individuals to plot themselves on a ‘sexuality scale’, with 23% of British people choosing something other than 100% heterosexual – and the figure rises to 49% among 18-24 year olds.
We want our LGBT+ staff and members to be in an environment free from prejudice and bias where they feel valued and respected regardless of their identity. Whilst we recognise that being a Stonewall Diversity Champion is important in providing a framework for us to develop our work in this area, we want to understand the issues which are unique to sport and how we can work to drive positive change.
England Netball is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and is keen to address areas of underrepresentation in its workforce and would particularly welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons from the BAME community, disabled people and people from the LGBT+ Community.
