A Mixed Workplace Netball Tournament delivered by Wesport and supported by England Netball’s Big Summer of Netball funding was a roaring success!
The tournament saw 14 mixed workplace teams compete to be crowned the ‘Best in the West’ last night.
A great level of Netball was played and was overseen by three TeamBath superstars Eboni Beckford–Chambers, Sam Cook and Amanda Varey.
At the end of the evening the crown went to ‘Bristol Thunder’ who took home tickets to watch a Vitality Netball Superleague match when the season starts in February.
Second place and silver medallists were ‘BrizBerries’ with the ‘Coachmaker Hot Shots’ receiving bronze medals.
The evening was supported by volunteers from the current Dame Kelly Holmes ‘Get on Track’ All–Female programme. The group supported with all aspects of the event, from registration to car parking and were even keen cheerleaders!
England Netball’s Avon and Wiltshire Netball Development Officer Emily Harrison organised a pre-tournament training session last week which some of the workplaces attended to make sure they were clued up on the rules and got an opportunity to work out combinations beforehand – loads of laughter included!
