Learners can take up to 2 years from the completion of both virtual sessions to apply for the written assessment if they wish. On successful completion of the written assessment, learners will have a further two years to apply to their county for the C Award Practical Assessment. Do not rush in to taking your written assessment too soon as it could reduce your practising time on court and as a result mean that you have to apply for your practical assessment before you are ready. A mentor, assessor or your County Officiating Lead are able to provide guidance on when they think the right time might be.
Learners who are ready are required to apply to Europe Netball directly themselves for their written assessment by completing an application form that will be issued with your course confirmation (linked below).
Process
Within 7 days of applying, you will be sent an invite from Europe Netball to sit the paper. This invite is valid for 7 days and you will be able to take the paper at any time within those 7 days. This is included in your course price so there is no additional charge for your first attempt.
However, if you do not take the paper within the 7 days you will be required to pay to take the paper again.
On completion of the paper, Europe Netball will advise you and England Netball of the outcome. England Netball will notify the county you are a member of. Following successful completion of the written assessment, you have a further two years to apply to your county for the C Award Practical Assessment.
If you have not completed the written assessment within 18 months of completing the course, England Netball will send you an email reminder that you have 6 months remaining to take the paper.
Please note, the deadline for C Award written assessment to be tested on the 2020 Rules of Netball will be 19th August 2024.
From 20th August, you may apply to take the C Award written assessment however your application will be held for processing by Europe Netball until 1st September. All applications received since 20th August will be processed, and a C Award written assessment using the 2024 Rules of Netball will be issued.
