In light of the government’s announcement today (16.03.2020) around Coronavirus (COVID-19), England Netball’s Health Advisory Group has reviewed the government guidance provided and has made the difficult decision to suspend netball activity across the country at all levels of the game at this time.
The health and safety of the Netball Family is our main priority and to avoid the spread of Coronavirus we will be continuing to follow the government’s advice, which is to move away from mass gatherings and for the public to avoid any unnecessary contact where possible over the coming weeks.
This means suspending competitions, courses, events, programmes, training sessions and all other forms of netball activity until further notice.
We are aware that the Coronavirus outbreak is a very fluid and rapidly changing situation. We will therefore continue to follow advice from Public Health England, the World Health Organisation and both local and national government on this matter and will keep the Netball Family updated as appropriate.
We know how great the Netball Family is at supporting each other and we ask that you continue to pull together (albeit virtually) during this difficult time. We will do our best to get you back on court as soon as it is safe to do so, but in the meantime please try to stay connected with your teammates, colleagues, fellow volunteers and others in the netball community as much as possible.
Our Health Advisory Group is working tirelessly to review all netball activity that was scheduled to take place in the coming weeks and will be providing guidance and support to the relevant parties over the coming days. We appreciate your patience in the interim.
Finally, we ask that you continue to follow the government’s guidance on how to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, by reviewing the advice provided here. Please stay safe and support each other during this hard time.
