This weekend the England U21 Roses head out to a holding camp in Johannesburg ahead of their Netball World Youth Cup adventure in Gaborone, Botswana.
England’s future stars begin their campaign on Saturday 8th July when they take on Wales in a lunchtime Pool D clash.
That is followed up with the challenge of Grenada on Sunday 9th July, a match against Trinidad & Tobago on July 10th and the final match of the initial group stage versus Fiji on July 12th.
Its good news for Roses fans back home too as the time difference is just +1 hour so we will be able to support the team throughout the tournament without the need to lose out on any beauty sleep!
The International Netball Federation is in discussion with the venue about the possibility of streaming fixtures online but this is still to be confirmed. We will update on any progression of this when we have the latest news.
To make sure that the Netball Family feel included on the journey, the U21 Roses have created their own unique way of making sure you can follow the team.
The squad is determined to achieve something that has eluded England teams in previous editions of the tournament, and create history. They want to win gold. Or as the young Roses would term it, they want to #FindTheUnicorn.
We will be using this original hashtag throughout the tournament and would invite all England fans to join us and embrace the team spirit when sending messages of support and good luck to the team in Botswana!
