England Umpires in action at Maccabiah Games

England Netball would like to wish Rachael Radford, Julie Wilks, Sue Brown, Chris Obin and Alice Johnson the best of luck as they depart for Israel to umpire at the 20th Maccabiah Games.

The Maccabiah Games is the world’s largest Jewish athletic competition and is often regarded to as “the Jewish Olympics”. The Maccabiah Games takes place every four years.

Gary Burgess, England Netball Officiating Manager passed on his best wishes to the English quintet. “I wish all of the umpires the best of luck as they depart for Israel. England Netball has a long history of supporting this fantastic event and I know that the umpires will have a great time.

“We have a good mix of umpires going with Rachael Radford, Chris Obin and Sue Brown from our Superleague Umpiring Pool and Julie Wilks and Alice Johnson joining the team as part of their on-going development into High Performance Umpiring. In addition to her umpiring responsibilities, Rachael Radford has also been asked to head up the Umpire Assessment and Appointments Panel”.

The 20th Maccabiah Games runs from 7th to the 18th July at the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
