https://netballher.co.uk/menstrual-cycle/lisa-de-jong/
There is the world of menstrual health. And then we have the world of mental health. And we need to start to talk about the intersection of those two worlds.
Lisa De Jong is a women’s health coach specialising in the menstrual cycle.
“We have these chemical messengers in our body that play a huge role in lots of areas in our body, but also our menstrual cycle. 🧠 Perimenopause – maybe you are familiar with the physical symptoms, but how about the emotional and mental ones?
https://netballher.co.uk/menopause/where-menopause-meets-mental-health/
Menopause is the umbrella term for this life stage and it actually breaks into three distinct phases: perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. Perimenopause comes first and it’s the phase associated with symptoms – hot flushes, night sweats, brain fog, insomnia and so on.
Some people may be familiar with the physical symptoms of perimenopause, but that’s much less the case for mental health symptoms.
🎥 Hear from disability fitness and inclusion expert Sam James, on how exercise eases the impact of her disability and her mission to help companies and organisations rethink inclusion:
https://netballher.co.uk/injury/disability-and-inclusion-within-sport/
60-70% of disabled people are inactive when they should be active.
Sam James came to realise the limits in sport and fitness service provision for people with disabilities when she needed support with a bad shoulder.
After seeing the restorative power of exercise in her own life, and to ease the impact of her disability, Sam has made it a mission to help clubs, spaces, companies and organisations to rethink inclusion and do more for populations that are often overlooked or hidden from view.
