Get involved in World Cup anniversary celebration

Last year netball fans came out in force as Liverpool became home to the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019, which saw 16 of the world’s best teams fight to be named world champions across 10 thrilling days of on court action.

A record breaking 112,000 tickets were purchased for the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019, with all England games being sold out and 6.07 million Brits saying they ‘followed or attended’ the event according to a survey conducted by YouGov on behalf of England Netball.

Liverpool City Council estimated that a whopping 44,000 people visited the Rose Garden (the fan park based in Liverpool ONE) during the tournament to enjoy its array of activities hosted by a number of our partners, such as Vitality, Jaffa, the British Army and Red Bull, as well as to watch the games live on a huge outdoor screen.

To celebrate one year on from the opening day of netball’s pinnacle event, we want to recapture those M&S Bank Arena and Rose Garden vibes with as many members of the Netball Family as possible wearing their World Cup or team merchandise, creating their own individual fan parks at home and sharing their photos on social media on Sunday 12th July.

All of the games are available to view on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel so why not make a day of it? You could even set up a video call with your family, friends or teammates to create a bigger virtual fan park and enjoy re-living some of those matches together!

Tag England Netball on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and let’s fill social media with lots of netball photos and fantastic opening day memories.
