What is Netball Europe

As part of the INF Regional structure, Netball Europe is the European Regional Governing Body for netball in Europe.

Through the Officials Award Working Group the group’s key aim is to review the structure and delivery of officiating awards and to accommodate the needs of the European Region in line with International standards. They oversee the development and approval of the Officiating Pathway from the “C” to the “A” Umpiring Awards, the Umpiring assessment competencies, and the methodology that is used to ensure an umpire is competent at each step of the pathway. The main feature of the Netball Europe Award scheme is that there is one pathway from the C Award to the International Award level using the same Performance and Assessment criteria.

Each member nation is free to choose how they educate their officials to meet the criteria set-out by Netball Europe. England Netball has chosen to provide courses at each of the C & B Award stage as part of the education process for its umpires.
