England Netball taking part in National Inclusion Week 2021

England Netball Summit 2020

National Inclusion Week, running from September 27 – October 3, was created by Inclusive Employers and aims to raise awareness of inclusion in the workplace.

Now in its ninth year, the 2021 theme for National Inclusion Week is United For Inclusion.

It’s about bringing people and organisations together to share learning and best practice so we can work collectively to reach our shared goal of making inclusion an everyday reality.

Last year, over 2,000 organisations took part in National Inclusion Week and the combined activities connected with over 16 million people using #NationalInclusionWeek2020 – this year our actions and activities will spread the message that we are all #UnitedForInclusion.

The activities England Netball has planned for National Inclusion Week aim to inspire, celebrate, and most importantly, lead to action – our ambition is to build a culture of inclusion, equality, celebration and the desire to change.

Inspired by the #UnitedForInclusion Daily Actions, England Netball will recognise key people who are helping to create a more inclusive Netball Family, as well as sharing new insight providing an overview of our understanding of the current diversity within netball, the lived experiences and barriers faced by members of the Netball Family and how we can ensure in the future that netball is a place for everyone to feel they can belong.

During the week we will be sharing stories from a range of people, from England Netball’s Inclusion Changemakers to the Vitality Roses, sharing their inclusion journey – aiming to broaden perspectives, offer new experiences and help create greater unity amongst the Netball Family.

Keep an eye out on our social media channels to see more this week.

Fran Connolly, CEO of England Netball, said: “We are very proud to be a part of and to be celebrating National Inclusion Week. We are committed to ensuring England Netball is an inclusive workplace, it is a huge part of our ongoing strategy and an area we know we can and will continue to work hard to constantly improve. We hope other organisations will join us in standing behind National Inclusion Week to raise awareness of the importance of inclusion in the workplace.”

Rupert Moyne, Managing Director – Corporate Services, Inclusive Employers, said: “I’m delighted that England Netball is joining employers around the world by taking part in National Inclusion Week 2021.

“The last year has really brought the need for inclusion into sharp focus. Many of us have spent the past twelve months working remotely and I therefore hope that United For Inclusion, the 2021 theme of National Inclusion Week, brings us closer to our colleagues and other organisations as we together celebrate, share and inspire inclusion practices.

“One area of focus for us during National Inclusion Week 2021 will be to inspire unity and action for anti-racism. We will be launching an anti-racist toolkit during this year’s Inclusion Week.

“England Netball’s involvement in National Inclusion Week shows that they take building an inclusive workplace seriously and I welcome their commitment to do so.”
