In order for us to provide you with feedback prior to the start of your formal observations you are required to complete a video assessment task within two weeks of your course date.
You are required to watch the video supplied above and assess the umpire at the TOP of the screen (brown hair and pink trainers). You should record your observations on a rough marking sheet provided (there are both printable and fillable options available below) and make a decision on whether you feel the umpire has met the required criteria.

Qualification Sign Off Overview
Into Officiating Award Assessor
Within two years of the course, trainee assessors are required to complete two shadow assessments at Into Officiating level, completing a hard copy Into Officiating Award Learner Assessment Report Form each time (linked below). These are submitted to their supervisory assessor for feedback. After the second assessment (which they take an active part in), if the supervisory assessor is satisfied that the trainee assessor has met the criteria, they will complete the Officiating Assessor Observation Checklist Google Form (linked below) which informs England Netball that the trainee assessor is ready to be added to the approved list. England Netball will contact the newly appointed Into Officiating Award Assessor with workforce details and provide confirmation that they are approved to assess at Into Officiating Award level.
Please note that Trainee Assessors must refrain from undertaking assessments unsupervised until they have completed all associated workforce registrations.
C Award Assessor
Within the same two year period following course attendance and only after being recognised as an Into Officiating Assessor, Into Assessors are required to complete two shadow assessments at C Award level, completing a hard copy Learner Assessment Report Form for A, B and C Awards each time (linked below). These are submitted to their supervisory assessor for feedback. After the second assessment (which they take an active part in), if the supervisory assessor is satisfied that the trainee assessor has met the criteria they will complete the Officiating Assessor Observation Checklist Google Form (linked below) which informs England Netball that the into assessor is ready to be added to the fully qualified assessor list. England Netball will contact the newly qualified assessor with workforce details and provide confirmation that they are approved to assess at C Award Award level. The Officiating Assessor Award is held for a 4 year period in which time the Assessor is expected to remain active, engaged and up to date, which includes attending a standardisation event every 4 years.
Further detailed processes can be found in the Officiating Assessor Award Learner Resource.
Please note that Assessors must only undertake assessments at the direction and organisation of their County or Regional Officiating Leads and should refrain from working outside of these parameters. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action.
