Razia Quashie of the Vitality Roses and Saracens Mavericks.

Razia Quashie of the Vitality Roses has been named as the fourth member of Saracens Mavericks’ 2021 Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) squad.

Quashie was named as the fourth Vitality Rose to be included in the Hertfordshire side’s ten-strong squad following the news of Kadeen Corbin, Jodie Gibson and Gabby Marshall all penning new deals.

The 23-year-old is a product of the Mavericks pathway system and her talent at youth level saw her promptly promoted to the senior side.

Quashie, a defender by trade, will be entering her fifth VNSL season at Hertfordshire Sports Village having made her league debut in 2017.

The Vitality Rose is a versatile defender and has been a staple of Kat Ratnapala’s staring VII’s in recent Superleague campaigns.

Quashie’s development has come at the right time for the two-time VNSL champions who are looking to break back into the top four after a few seasons away.

Her clean hands and notable aerial ability has ensured that she and New Zealand native Jo Trip have formed a strong partnership in recent years.

Quashie started all three games at goal keeper in the short-lived 2020 campaign when Mavericks won two of their three games.

For the Vitality Roses, Quashie made her senior international debut against the Sunshine Girls in a 2018 tour to Jamaica. She has since gained a further 11 caps.

Under Jess Thirlby, the goal keeper has made the squad for the South Africa Series, Vitality Netball Nations Cup and now the Cadbury Test Series against the New Zealand Silver Ferns.

This news comes after the announcements that fellow England internationals Kadeen Corbin, Jodie Gibson and Gabby Marshall will also be playing for Mavericks in 2021.
