The inaugural Vitality Netball Horizon Series will head to a final game decider after a last-second goal from the Jamaica Sunshine Girls handed them a 50-49 victory on home soil.
Having run out 55-47 winners in the second game in Manchester, the Vitality Roses went into the match 1-0 up knowing that a win would seal the Vitality Netball Horizon Series and see them return home with the Rhone Hornsby Trophy.
After a dramatic last-gasp goal saw Jamaica secure a 49-49 draw in the series opener, the third game once again went down to the wire as they kept their title hopes alive.
Celebrating the return of international netball to Jamaica after an extended period with no test matches being played in the country, it was the hosts who flew out the traps.
After the Sunshine Girls raced to an early 5-0 lead, England slowly got their way back into the game to close the opening quarter just two goals behind at 12-10.
The world number two and world number four continued to give everything in another hotly-contested game as Jamaica extended their advantage to a slender three-goal cushion at the half-time break.
There was nothing to separate the two sides in the championship (third) quarter scoring 12 apiece but it wasn't enough for England to make a dent in the Sunshine Girls' lead.
With three goals the difference heading into the last 15 minutes, the Vitality Roses fought until the end - winning the final quarter - but clever play from Jamaica to run down the clock saw them time their winning moment to perfection leaving no opportunity for Jess Thirlby's side to respond.
The final game of the Vitality Netball Horizon Series takes place at 00:00 GMT on Wednesday 27 November with the action live on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app (for UK viewers), or NetballPass (for international viewers).
The Vitality Roses will next be back in action on home soil when they play Malawi, South Africa and Uganda in a four-day tournament on 1-2 and 8-9 February 2025 across two venues in London and Nottingham.
