Round five of Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) took place over the weekend, with the ANZ Premiership entering its seventh round, and there were plenty of Vitality Roses involved across both competitions Down Under.
A stellar final quarter saw NSW Swifts surge away from Collingwood Magpies to earn a 62-53 victory on Sunday, with Helen Housby supporting the rampant Sam Wallace in the circle.
Nat Haythornthwaite also featured off the bench as the Swifts scored seven uninterrupted goals to extend their lead from one to nine in the fourth quarter despite the efforts of Geva Mentor at goal-keeper for the Magpies.
West Coast Fever maintained their 100% record with an exciting 66-65 win over league leaders GIANTS Netball on Monday as Stacey Francis-Bayman’s side move into the top four having started the season with a 12-point for salary cap breaches.
Jo Harten was phenomenal for the GIANTS with nine successful ‘Super Shots’, but she was penalised for a held ball in the dying seconds as the Fever raced to the other end of the court to claim a vital win.
