England Netball Performance Pathway Coach Developer, Sarah Green, was last night (3 December) announced as one of the winners of this year’s UK Coaching Awards.
The prestigious coaching event, which was held digitally this year, honoured and rewarded the work of those making an impact in the coaching landscape in the UK.
Sarah, who provides coaches within the England Netball Performance Pathway and the Vitality Netball Superleague with invaluable training and support, claimed the Coach Developer Award.
With over 20 years of experience in coaching and 10 years of experience in coach education and development support, it came as no surprise to Sarah’s colleagues at England Netball that she was nominated for this award.
A testimonial from a coach selected for England Netball’s coach development programme said that Sarah created an environment in which they felt comfortable to discuss topics without judgement and that her “contagious curiosity” ensured that they maintained a growth mindset.
Upon being named as the winner of the Coach Developer Award, Sarah commented “It was a massive shock to be named the winner, I literally had no idea and was just delighted to be nominated. It’s such an honour to win this award, I am so passionate about supporting coaches to learn and grow so to be recognised for doing that is just brilliant.
“Thank you to the coaches for putting up with my constant questions and a big thank you to England Netball for your ongoing support and trust in me.”
Prior to joining the Netball Family, Sarah plied her trade at The FA for more than 11 years. She is a UEFA A Licence Coach and an FA Tutor, plus she is currently the first team coach at Derby County FC Women.
In addition to her busy schedule, Sarah still manages to enjoy playing netball too.
Everyone at England Netball would like to congratulate Sarah on receiving this award.
