The U19 and U21 Netball Performance Leagues (NPL) return for another season as both competitions get underway on Saturday 24 April 2021.
The NPL is part of the Elite Sport Framework which allows netballers within the Performance Pathway to take part in valuable competition over the coming months.
To start the season, all 20 teams involved across both leagues (10 in the U19 NPL and 10 in the U21 NPL) will take to the court at the University of Worcester Arena for a series of friendlies.
In the first stage of the competition, the 10 teams will be split into two groups and play each team in their group once. You can see all the U19 fixtures here and U21 fixtures here.
Following the group matches, there will be a finals day at the University of Worcester Arena with the fixtures based on the teams’ finishing positions in their respective groups (1st Group A vs 1st Group B, 2nd Group A vs 2nd Group B, etc.).
The upcoming season represents a fresh start and another opportunity to claim a coveted piece of silverware following the cancellation of the 2019/20 NPL season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After narrowly missing out on lifting the trophy in 2018, Manchester Thunder won eight of their nine games and scored a league-high 528 goals to finish top of the U19 NPL table in 2019.
Meanwhile, Wasps Netball took the 2019 U21 NPL title after an impressive unbeaten campaign and will be determined to get their hands on the trophy once again.
It’s set to be another hotly-contested season in both leagues with some of the country’s most exciting and promising young netballers taking to court.
Everyone at England Netball wishes all the teams the best of luck and a massive thank you in advance to all our brilliant officials and volunteers for your hard work and support.
