Tameside win U16 Clubs Finals in thrilling finale

The 2017 National Clubs U16 Finals came to an incredible close on Sunday afternoon as Tameside overcame Eagles 30-26 in an extra-time finish.

Both sides had performed wonderfully over the weekend, each taking a perfect record into the final showdown.

For a long period of time Eagles looked like they would triumph, leading throughout the match until the final few minutes. A run of four straight goals took Tameside level in the dying embers of normal time.

The nerves were being felt on court and in the crowd as the spectators fell into an expectant hush. A quick start from Tameside saw them take control and they held off Eagles to claim the trophy.
