The 2016 Goalden Globe Awards are tomorrow and we’re excited to share with you our penultimate category!
The winners from each category will be named this coming Saturday 17th September at a glittering ceremony in Droitwich Spa – and this week we’ve been showcasing the nominees.
The 2016 categories include:

• Mary Bulloch Administrator Award
• Muriel McNally Award

It’s now the turn of the Unsung Hero Award – read below to hear all the fabulous work these volunteers do for our sport:
Unsung Heroes
Hazel McConnell
Hazel is an enthusiastic, committed member of the Corby Netball Club who has engaged and inspired hundreds of players during her years of involvement in Junior Netball. She is a founding member of her club and selfless in her dedication to ensuring each player has a positive experience.
Gill Davies
Gill has been involved in Netball for 45 years. She has been a Club and County Academy Coach, an Umpire, Secretary and Talent Mentor for England Netball. She is described as reliable, passionate and never giving less than 100%.
Lynn-Marie Tomlin
Lynn has made a substantive contribution to Raychem Netball Club as a player, Coach, Squad Manager and Secretary. She supports the Executive and Members with a level of dedication which is described as admirable.
Gaynor Hewings
Since founding Ramsey Netball Club, Gaynor has played a pivotal role as Coach, Umpire and all-round Mentor. She has served on the Manx Netball Association, chaired her club, fund-raised and assisted in club administration
Julie Kimber
Coaching at National, County, Club and Academy levels Julie brings a wealth of experience to players and coaches alike. A passionate mentor, she is a valuable support to new coaches and has considerable success in developing players from grassroots through to National Standard.
Tracey Butcher
Puts netball and netballers first often before her own needs, offering time, support and enthusiasm to impact players within Jetts Netball Club, league and county and has even volunteered for England Netball at a number of events. Tracey encourages and leads all the volunteers within her club & is also the head coach.
Joy Cummings-Douglas
An inspirational Coach, Mentor and Umpire who has dedicated 32 years to volunteering in Club Netball. Joy is an influence role model with an infectious personality who has raised the profile of Netball in the Community and inspired players of all ages and abilities continually helping them to reach their potential.
Brenda Blanc
Brenda is known across Essex Met as a figurehead of Netball, she coaches, officiates, mentors and volunteers across the sport. She is always willing to help anyone. Brenda is the head coach at OPA Netball Club for both adults and juniors.
Sue Lyons
With a real passion for netball Sue inspires junior players to reach their true potential through high standards, nurture and support. Sue organises over 70 girls and their parents through numerous e-mails and administrates everything. Abbey Juniors would be lost without her
