Vote for your GoGirl Grassroots Coach Winner!

For the first time ever we have opened selected categories in the illustrious Goalden Globe Awards with the winners to be decided by YOU!

In total, public voting will select eight of our winners who will be presented with their awards at a lavish ceremony to be hosted at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham on Saturday 16th September.

Today we look at the nominees for the GoGirl Grassroots Coach Award

Heidi Wyncoll (East)

Google Ad Manager – MPU – In Article

Heidi organises, supports and mentors all  county coaches within Suffolk, of which there are 8. She is 100 % committed and dedicated to the performance process in Suffolk; attending all junior competitions to identify up and coming players, coaches and clubs. She goes the extra mile by ensuring all players were able to get to the games, had the right kit and umpires for games.

Karen Cresswell (East Midlands)

Karen supports and coaches approximately 85 Club members, ranging from 4 -50 years, and manages three junior and two adult teams in Nottinghamshire. She actively promotes netball within the county, attending local schools to deliver coaching sessions to encourage juniors. She is passionate about ensuring our club is accessible to all, regardless of financial status, hence ensuring there is no club membership fee.

Anna Harris (London and South East)

Over the last 12 months, Anna has built on the clubs previous promotions to help the top three teams all achieve promotion in their various leagues. Anna has also given up her Sundays to coach the High 5 teams, as well as assisting in the development of upcoming coaches and volunteers.

Francesca Nutt (South West)

Frankie is passionate about providing young talented netballers a focused environment to develop their skills as they progress in the performance pathway at Avon Academy. Several young players have progressed to the U14 academy early due to the speed of their improvement under Frankie’s guidance. When it comes to development, she seeks out different coaches to shadow/observe so that she can improve her own coaching.

Sally-Ann Chambers (West Midlands)

Sally supports aspiring coaches by sourcing funding and mentoring during every session. She coaches all abilities of players on the pathway; grassroots to regional. 12 months ago her club only had 8 affiliated girls, now they have an u14 and u12 team. Her successes in the club lead to her winning Black Country coach of the year, with recognition in the local newspaper.

Melanie Morris (North West)

Melanie is head coach of Beechwood Netball Club, which has 11 junior teams and 5 senior teams; Beechwood originally started with only 6 adult players. The growth has been due to her undying commitment. She regular dedicates her weekend to increasing development of BNC, with creating a Love Netball Academy on Saturdays as well as extra fitness training sessions.

Tracey Buchanan (Yorkshire)

Twelve years ago Tracey attended a ‘Back to Netball’ session at her local sports centre and has since taken up coaching at Rothwell Senior Netball Club; where her involvement has seen the club grow from 8 players to 32. Tracey has created a pathway for junior players in the South Leeds area, with major success.

Claire Joyce (North East)

Claire has successfully grown the junior section of Gateshead Stadium from zero to over 40 with 4 teams from U11 – U16. Claire supports the development of coaches across a range of England Netball programmes, including encouraging junior members to be actively involved in Pass on your Passion.

Ashleigh Kinch (South)

Ashleigh actively promotes the Rushmoor Netball club, seeking ways to attract new players and always ensuring the netball played is fun, active and a positive learning experience. She coached the U19 squad to regional victory in winning the U19 Regional League. She has also single handedly organised and promoted Rushmoor’s junior invitational tournament; with hundreds of attending girls.
