Wasps Netball have taken the 2019 U21 NPL title after an impressive unbeaten campaign.
After finishing as runners-up last season, they displayed skill, strength, teamwork and grit to fight off the competition and go one better this year.
Their campaign began with a narrow 43-42 victory against defending champions Manchester Thunder before a clear 65-48 win over London Pulse.
They were pushed all the way by Mavericks but came out on top (58-55) and then saw off Team Bath (46-83).
The hotly-contested season came to a close on Saturday 6th April at Worcester Arena with all eight teams in action across six fantastic final games.
Some of the country’s most exciting and promising young netballers took to court with Wasps Netball securing the title with a 62-44 victory over Surrey Storm.
London Pulse, who finished as U19 NPL champions in 2018, enjoyed an impressive inaugural season in the U21 competition.
Back-to-back wins against Loughborough Lightning (41-51) and Manchester Thunder (57-49) saw them finish as runners-up ahead of last year’s champions Thunder, who finished in 3rd.
Wasps U21s Head Coach Dannii Titmuss said: “I am so proud of the girls. We missed out on the title by coming second last year, so it was great to show our strength again and get back on top this time around.
A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, officials and volunteers for their hard work during another fantastic season.
Congratulations to all teams involved, especially to Wasps Netball on their unbeaten season and winning the NPL U21 title.
