
The young Roses are ready and raring for action at the Europe Netball U17 Event 2025.
The tournament, hosted by Northern Ireland from 5-9 March, will see England’s U17 squad compete against Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UAE.
The opening three days of the tournament will feature group stage matches, before placings are decided on the final two days.
All of the games are available to watch for free via Europe Netball’s YouTube channel.
Group Stage Fixtures:
10am on Wednesday 5 March – UAE vs. England
4pm on Thursday 6 March – England vs. Wales
4pm on Friday 7 March – England vs. Northern Ireland
Under 17 squad:
England’s U17 squad won the competition in 2024, in a tournament that saw the side go unbeaten throughout. Looking to continue this success, Roses Pathway Head Coach Sonia Mkoloma has picked a squad of 12 athletes and three reserves for the competition.
Among the squad are four players who return to the Europe Netball U17 Event after competing at the tournament in 2024, Sascha Dale, Shannon Mahlik, Neve Wright and Gracie Smith. The squad will be led by captain Shannon Mahlik, with Sascha Dale as vice-captain.

Captain Shannon Mahlik: “I’m very grateful to be given this opportunity as captain of this amazing squad. The team’s hard work and determination has shown throughout the season and has been really enjoyable to see. Connections are becoming stronger, and the team looks confident. The role of captain for my country is nearly every girl’s dream and I’m extremely honoured to be given this chance and excited to see what the competition holds.”
Vice-captain Sascha Dale: “I’m so excited for this competition because I know how much it means to everyone. As a team, we’re entering this competition prepared, strong and ruthless. We have the chance to show off all our hard work and implement our structures. I’m also honoured to be named vice-captain, alongside Shannon as captain, of this amazing, talented squad. I can’t wait to see what we can do – roll on Europe Netball 2025!”
