Sports Coach – Netball Specialist
We are looking for an excellent Sports Coach to teach Netball in our Senior School.
The successful candidate will be required to work 20 to 25 per week term time, afternoons from 12.30pm and approximately 4 Saturdays per term. Flexibility is an essential requirement for the role, for example, returning late from away matches. Salary will be discussed at interview.

Netball Coach (Sport & Exercise Department)
Reporting to: The Co-Directors of Sport & Exercise
Location: Highgate School
Type of position: Casual (approx.18 hours per week) fixed term (Michaelmas and Lent term-time only)
Salary: £15.70 per hour (including £2.28 per hour of holiday pay). Dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
Highgate School is looking for a Level 2 qualified or similarly experienced Netball Coach to join the School’s Sport & Exercise Department. The position involves the coaching and supervision of pupils (aged 4-18) in all aspects of netball. The postholder will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of coaching sessions, preparation and selection of squads and managing squads at fixtures. The successful candidate will be expected to be available for mid-week and weekend fixtures throughout the term. The postholder will also be required to work closely with the Teaching Staff who manage the curriculum and extra-curricular programme. Netball is our priority sport in the first term and the successful candidate will be placed with a team appropriate to their expertise and experience.
- Coaching as per agreed hours. The successful candidate will be proficient in the skills, techniques and tactics appropriate to the activity, age and experience of the pupils
- Working within curricular and extra-curricular time the candidate would be able to: plan and lead session within a framework of a progressive progamme; select, manage and umpire squads; track pupil progress and liaise with the Co-Directors of Sport and Exercise to ensure the highest standard of coaching is met
- A basic grounding in Health and Safety procedures, risk assessments and codes of conduct for pupils while taking part in the activity itself
- Caring for sports equipment and kit and organisation of sport and exercise store cupboards
- Supervising students during changing and dispersal after the lesson, ensuring good behaviour and safe conduct
- Liaising with the Co-Directors of Sport and Exercise and other teaching staff and coaches
- Contributing to the development of coaching plans appropriate to the activity, age and experience of the pupils
- Participate in and contribute to INSET training for staff as required
- Carry out such other duties within the post holder’s capabilities as may be reasonably requested from time to time

St Paul’s Girls’ School is seeking to appoint a talented sports graduate with a netball speciality, to contribute to our dynamic sports programme. This internship opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to earn whilst gaining valuable teaching and coaching experience at a leading London girls’ school, with excellent sports facilities and free accommodation in bespoke staff apartments.
The post is offered for the remainder of the 2017/18 academic year with the possibility of a second year up to June 2019. The quoted salary covers a full academic year, including holiday pay, and will be pro-rated in line with the appointee’s start date.
