England Netball is delighted to announce that one of the most decorated netball officials in the history of the sport will be bringing their expertise to our Officiating department. Gary Burgess, Commonwealth Games Final and World Cup Final umpire, is joining England Netball as Officiating Manager and will be taking on this role from September 1st. A hugely respected figure in officiating around the world, Gary’s passion and knowledge of the sport will provide invaluable assistance as England Netball continues to develop, support and encourage officials across the country. In 2015 he collected the accolade of Performance Official of the Year at the Sports Official UK Awards. Gary joins us having spent 14 years in education, working as a PE teacher and more recently as assistant vice-principal. Everybody at England Netball would like to wish Gary a very warm welcome to the team.
