Importance of being involved in the netball community

If you’ve already been involved in netball you will have come across a volunteer who wants to help you be the best you can be. Whether that’s your teacher giving up their evening for your after school netball club, a coach who delivers your netball session every Monday evening even in the wind and rain, or even a fixtures secretary who’s up late into the evenings making sure we all have a games planned throughout the season and umpires to turn up at the right times. They do this because they love netball.

We’ve all had that one person in our lives who’s been the best role model, and they’ve made our netball life that little bit more special. Once you’re old enough, you might start thinking that they’ve done so much for you and that you’d like to give a little bit back to netball yourself, making sure other mini ‘I Heart Netballers’ have the same experiences as you. This is why we want to help you get involved and stay involved in your netball community.

Whether you fancy being a coach, umpire, social secretary or treasurer, there are many ways you can get involved! Clubs, counties and regions will always need helpers so let them know you’re interested and complete the Volunteer Registration Form.

What’s more exciting! England Netball wants to recognise your volunteering and the Pass on your Passion Programme lets you log your hours and get loads of netball goodies as a reward! It’s the icing on the cake, that’s why we already have 2,900 Young People registered.

What’s stopping you? Let’s give a little back! Everyone loves that warm fuzzy feeling after you’ve done a good deed!
